Achille Castiglioni Collection
Design Achille Castiglioni
The collection created by Mamoli based on a design by Ettore Sottsass redefines the interaction
between user and object. Defined by an austere, monumental cylindrical body, the series stands out
for its iconic Y-shaped control lever, enhanced by a heat-applied enamel finish that identifies water
flows. The lever’s movement, independent from the tap body, elevates the ritual of use through precise
mechanics and a metaphysical visual language. A perfect synthesis of formal rigor and sensory
innovation, conceived for those who view the bathroom as a poetic and forward-thinking space.

Achille Castiglioni
Born in Milan in 1918, Achille Castiglioni graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1944. Throughout his career, he worked on urban planning, architecture, exhibitions and product design, always driven by a constant pursuit of functionality. He played an active role in the post-war reconstruction, contributing to the rebuilding of the Palazzo della Società per le Belle Arti. A winner of seven Compasso d’Oro awards, he received his final accolade in 1979. In 1978, he designed the innovative tap series to which Mamoli now pays tribute by naming it after him.
